Glass delivery lead times

How long does glass delivery take?

Lead times include the relevant manufacturing and delivery period and vary according to the product and level of processing. Bespoke shapes, CNC work, oversized panels and specialist finishes can take longer.

Product / requirement Typical lead time Delivery guidance
Glass – squares & rectangles under 1000 × 2000mm 7–10 working days Typical manufacture and delivery timeframe.
Glass – rakes & other shapes under 1000 × 2000mm 10–12 working days Shaped fabrication can add production time.
Toughened glass – standard shapes under 1000 × 2000mm 10–12 working days Includes the additional processing required for toughened glass.
Toughened glass – rakes & other shapes under 1000 × 2000mm 12–15 working days Shape, edgework and fabrication can affect the final lead time.
CNC / templates – circles, ovals and template work 12–15 working days for glass More complex CNC work may require additional production time.
CNC / templates – toughened glass 15–21 working days Allow additional time for specialist processing.
Oversized panels over 1000 × 2000mm Allow approximately +5 working days Specialist transport may be required depending on panel size and destination.
Custom edgework / radius corners Allow approximately +3 working days Additional fabrication time may apply.
Custom cut-outs / notches Allow approximately +3 working days Additional fabrication time may apply.
Back-painted panels Allow approximately +5 working days Special finishes require additional processing.
Colour match service Allow approximately +7 working days Sample matching requires additional preparation and approval.
Important: The delivery lead time shown with the individual product/order takes priority because the actual timeframe depends on the final specification. If an order contains several items with different lead times, we normally send the order together and the overall lead time is determined by the item with the longest lead time.
Working days: Orders received on weekends or UK public holidays are processed on the next working day. Delivery dates and times are estimates unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing.

Packaging & dispatch

How we prepare glass for delivery

Glass and mirrors require careful packaging because the products are fragile and are often made to precise dimensions. Once your order is ready, it is checked by our production team before dispatch.

Depending on the size and delivery method, products may be protected with bubble wrap, thick foam padding and secure cardboard packaging before being strapped and prepared for transport.

  • Production quality check before dispatch
  • Protective wrapping and edge protection where appropriate
  • Secure cardboard packaging for suitable products
  • Strapped and secured for transport
  • Specialist handling for larger or more fragile orders
If a production or transport issue is likely to affect your order, we will contact you with an update where possible.

Couriers & tracking

From specialist glass transport to standard courier delivery

The delivery method depends on the size, weight, fragility and type of your order. Smaller glass products may be sent using a standard courier service, while larger or more fragile panels can require specialist transport or palletised delivery.

Where tracking is available, delivery information will be provided using the contact details supplied with your order. Courier delivery dates and times are estimates and can be affected by traffic, weather, vehicle restrictions and other circumstances outside our direct control.

  • Smaller orders may use standard courier services
  • Larger glass may require specialist transport
  • Palletised deliveries may use a tail lift
  • Tracking or dispatch notifications may be provided where available
  • Delivery dates and times are estimates

Large & fragile glass

Delivery of large glass, mirrors and balustrade panels

Large mirrors, balustrade glass and other substantial glass orders may be delivered using specialist transport or a pallet network. A tail lift may be required to unload the goods safely from the vehicle.

Some larger deliveries may arrive on an approximately 18-tonne rigid vehicle. Please make sure there is suitable access for the expected delivery vehicle before dispatch.

  • Vehicle access must be suitable for the size of the delivery vehicle
  • Suitable ground-level unloading space must be available
  • A tail lift may be used for palletised or larger deliveries
  • A fit and able person may need to assist with unloading
  • Drivers cannot carry large glass upstairs or navigate stairs
Planning a large delivery? If you are unsure whether your road, driveway, entrance or unloading area is suitable, contact us before ordering. We can discuss the access requirements and whether an alternative delivery arrangement is needed.

Delivery access requirements

Make sure your delivery can arrive safely

For fragile and oversized glass, delivery access is part of the planning process. Please consider the route from the public road to the nearest safe storage point before your order is dispatched.

Vehicle access

Check road width, turning space, parking restrictions, low bridges, height restrictions and whether a larger rigid delivery vehicle can safely reach the address.

Safe unloading

The unloading area should be clear, stable and free from obstacles. There must be an appropriate place to temporarily store the glass safely.

Ground-floor delivery

Large and fragile glass deliveries are ground-floor only. Drivers cannot navigate stairs or carry large panels through difficult internal routes.

Need a special arrangement? Tell us before dispatch if there are unusual access conditions, restricted vehicle access, difficult unloading arrangements or other delivery requirements. We will do our best to find a practical solution, although additional transport or handling costs may apply.

Receiving your glass

What to do when your order arrives

Glass and mirrors should be inspected as soon as they are delivered. Before the driver leaves, check the packaging and the visible condition of the goods where this can be done safely.

  1. Check the delivery. Make sure the number of packages or panels received matches your order.
  2. Inspect for visible damage. Look for cracks, chips, scratches or other obvious defects.
  3. Photograph any issue. Take clear photographs of the packaging and the affected glass or mirror.
  4. Contact us on the day of delivery. Notify us in writing by email if you identify a problem.
  5. Store the glass safely. Keep it protected from impact and unsuitable conditions until installation.
Important

Don't schedule installation too early

We recommend that you do not arrange for fitting or other dependent work to begin until you have received and checked your glass.

Made-to-measure glass is manufactured specifically to the confirmed dimensions and specification. A transport issue, damage in transit or unforeseen delay can affect an installation date.

If there is a delivery problem, contact us as soon as possible and provide your order details, photographs and a description of the issue.
Delivery address

Please check your details before placing the order

Accurate delivery information helps us arrange the correct transport and contact you if there is a problem.

  • Full delivery address
  • Accurate postcode
  • Daytime telephone number
  • Up-to-date email address
  • Any known access restrictions or special requirements

If incorrect address or contact information results in an additional delivery charge, that additional cost may be payable by the customer.

Special delivery requirements

Tell us about access before dispatch

If you believe your property could be difficult for a glass delivery vehicle to access, please contact us before the order is dispatched. Examples include narrow roads, restricted parking, limited turning space, low bridges, height restrictions or unusual unloading arrangements.

We can discuss the options with you and, where practical, arrange a different delivery method. Additional costs may apply where specialist transport or extra handling is required.

Delivery FAQs

Frequently asked questions about glass delivery

Clear answers about lead times, couriers, large glass, access and receiving your order.

Do you deliver glass and mirrors nationwide?

We offer delivery across Mainland UK for our glass and mirror products. Deliveries outside Mainland UK can be assessed on a case-by-case basis depending on the product and available logistics.

How long does glass delivery take?

Lead times depend on the product and the manufacturing required. Typical timeframes range from around 7–10 working days for smaller rectangular glass products through to 15–21 working days for some toughened CNC and template work. Oversized panels and special finishes can require additional time. The lead time shown for the specific product/order takes priority.

What happens if my order contains products with different lead times?

Where items are ordered together, we normally dispatch the order together rather than splitting it. The overall lead time is therefore based on the item with the longest applicable lead time.

How are large glass and mirror panels delivered?

Larger glass, mirror and balustrade orders may be delivered by specialist transport or through a pallet network, potentially using a tail lift. Vehicle access and a suitable ground-level delivery area need to be available.

Do you deliver large glass upstairs?

No. Large and fragile glass deliveries are generally ground-floor delivery only. The driver may require assistance from a fit and able person to unload the glass and move it to the nearest safe storage position inside the entrance. Drivers cannot navigate stairs.

What information do you need for delivery?

Please provide the complete delivery address, accurate postcode, daytime contact telephone number and current email address. These details allow us to arrange delivery and contact you about dispatch, delivery dates or access issues.

What should I do when my glass is delivered?

Check the glass or mirror as soon as it is delivered and inspect for visible damage, defects or scratches. If there is an issue, notify us in writing by email on the day of delivery and provide clear photographs where possible.

Can I arrange a specific delivery date or time?

Delivery dates and times depend on the delivery method and carrier. Any stated delivery date or time is an estimate unless we have expressly agreed otherwise in writing.

Can I leave a glass delivery unattended?

If you want goods to be left unattended, contact us in writing before delivery so the request can be considered. If goods are left unattended at your request, responsibility for damage or loss after the agreed delivery point may be affected.

What if my property has difficult access for a glass delivery?

Tell us before dispatch if access is restricted, if the road is unsuitable for the expected vehicle, or if there are parking, height, width or turning restrictions. We can discuss alternative arrangements, although additional delivery costs may apply.
